Megabus offers the cheapest long-distance travel in the UK and the USA, with fares as low as £1/$4, but it's often overlooked because it’s slower than other travel options. To highlight Megabus’s unbeatable price, we created a campaign that put the cost into context.

To highlight Megabus’s unbeatable price, we created a campaign that put the cost into context.

By visually comparing the price to everyday items people buy anyway, we made the incredibly low fare feel even more accessible.

In major train stations and transit hubs across the UK and USA, Megabus introduces pop-up kiosks and vending machines with an unexpected twist—your purchase is actually your next trip.

For the price of a coffee, a snack, or even a pack of gum, travelers unknowingly buy a Megabus ticket to a surprise destination. Instead of a receipt, they receive their journey details—showing them just how absurdly cheap travel with Megabus can be.

By disguising their fare as an everyday purchase, the activation reframes the way people perceive travel costs, proving that for the price of a morning coffee, they could be halfway across the country.

Taking this idea even further, Megabus partners with cafés and food vendors in major transit stations to create "Snack or Seat" menus—where customers can choose between their usual meal or a journey for the same price.

A coffee or a trip to Philadelphia? A sandwich or a ride to Manchester? The menu lists both options side by side, challenging people to rethink what a few dollars (or pounds) can really get them.

At checkout, those who opt for the trip receive a Megabus ticket instead of their food—proving just how ridiculously cheap long-distance travel can be.
